Item Description
This fine antique Edwardian sterling silver tureen has a plain oval shaped form onto a plain oval domed spreading foot.
The surface of this piece is embellished with a bright cut engraved crest of on a chapeau turned up a lion rampant supporting an arrow palewise feathered and headed to one side.
This antique silver soup tureen retains the original hallmarked push fit cover, surmounted with the original hallmarked detachable shaped scrolling handle with acanthus leaf decoration.
The antique silver soup tureen is fitted with thread decorated loop handles with acanthus leaf terminals.
Condition
This Edwardian sterling silver piece is a very good gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent condition.
This piece has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition.
Full hallmarks struck to surface of the body and part hallmarks to the handle are all clear; due to their location on the surface of the tureen the hallmarks have wear in keeping with age, but all remain legible.
