The Petit Family Crest
John Lewis Petit M.D. F.R.S., 1736-1780, was the son of John Petit of Little Aston Hall, Shropshire. A distinguished surgeon he is mentioned in the entry in the Dictionary of National Biography for his grandson, John Louis Petit, the architectural historian and painter. Taken from a bookplate of circa 1760.
