The Lemmon or Lemon Family Crest
Gore's Roll of Arms gives these devices to Joseph Lemon, of Charlestown, Mass., who emigrated before 1680 from Dorchester, Co. Dorset, England. He brought over a similar seal, with a different crest, however. In the Charlestown Burial Ground we find a tombstone of a grandson of the colonist, also with the same shield. The Lemons, Lemans, or Lemmons, of Co. Herts and Co. Norfolk, England, bear the same arms.
