Barry Witmond formed the company in 1976 following the completion of his apprenticeship with the long established London firms of Wakeley & Wheeler and Eric Holmes, whose business he took over. He has undertaken commissions and restoration work for many of the great collections, both in England and abroad. Over the years, a wide-ranged team of craftsmen has been established, with the ability to offer expertise in all aspects of metalwork. Our workshops are now at Burghley House (pictured below), one of England's greatest stately homes and base for a talented group of craftsmen and women in several fields of conservation and restoration.

As well as a comprehensive restoration service, the company can offer clients assistance with design and creation of unique items for personal or corporate gifts. A 'one off' or limited edition item makes the most unforgettable present.
