The Carter Family Crest
of Castlemartin, co Kildare. Thomas Carter, 1690-1763 was an Irish politician and leading member of the Patriot party, who acquired the Castlemartin estate (now the home of Tony O'Reilly) in 1730. It remained in the possession of the Carter family until the 1850's.
