Thomas Berney, Esqr. of Bracon Ash, Norfolk. Taken from an early 19th century bookplate. The second son of Thomas Trenche Berney of Morton Hall and Bracon Hall, Norfolk. The Berneys of Morton Hall were a branch of the Berneys of Reedham (see Berney Baronet of Reedham). Sir Thomas de Berney having acquired considerable lands in Norfolk following his marriage to Margaret, daughter and heiress of William de Reedham in the time of Edward III.
