The Leggett or Leggit or Legget Family Crest

Gabriel Legget, or Leggit, of Scotland, was in the New York province in 1676, where he married, and died in 1697. He was the patentee of the large estate of West Farms, and appears to have made use of the coat of arms we give, and which has been kept and borne by his numerous descendants.
