The Kip Family Crest
The family originates with Ruloff de Kype, a Norman lord, whose estates were close to Alencon. The emigrant, Isaac Kype (1657), obtained a large grant of land in the New York colony. It was erected as a manor, by patent dated 1688, for his descendants, Jacob and Hendricks, under the name of Kypsburg.
