Item Description

Crumbs! This is one of the heaviest sauce ladles we have ever handled! This bad boy weighs in at an incredicle 128 grams, or 4 ounces, (twice that of a regular ladle) testament to how prosperous England was during this period. Having implements like this on your table really announced your wealth, much as a Range Rover would today...but perhaps a bit more subtly ;-)
This corker of a ladle in the Kings pattern with a union shell features a lovely seated griffin crest and crisp hallmarks for Thomas Dexter of London in 1824.

Length: 18cm or 7 ⅛ inches
