Item Description

The Goblets stand on a circular pedestal foot decorated with gadrooned bands and vertical flat fluting. The vase shaped bowls display a wide lower band of acanthus spears, with drapery swags above tied with ribbons and tassels, a popular Neo Classical decorative design. The front of each Goblet is engraved with an unusual contemporary Crest and each is fully marked on the side. The interiors all display original gilding to protect the silver.

Sets of Neo Classical Goblets are extremely rare and we only know of one other set, numbering six, which were formerly in the Al Tajir Collection and made by Fogelberg & Gilbert. The Goblets are in excellent condition and would be an important addition to any collection of Neo Classical silver.
