Item Description
Rare is it that we find feather-edging as intact as it is on this beautiful spoon. Just think about it: This spoon was made BEFORE THE AMERICAN DECLARATION of INDEPENDENCE, for pete's sake! Isn't it AMAZING it is here with us in this condition? It shows hardly any wear to the tip of the bowl (in fact the extra metal usually put there to withstand normal wear is still there!), or to the feather edging, and this after 242 years of use! It is one of the great pleasures of being a dealer of such objects to handle a spoon like this: beautiful craftsmanship, fantastic intact detail (the crest and hallmarks are divine) and a distinctive bowl shape combine to produce an object that cannot help but make any occasion a celebration.
