Item Description
This is a piece of Victorian electroplate in good condition made by the excellent Elkington and Co. It has a simple beaded edge and a very nicely engraved crest of a dove holding an olive branch. It can be pressed into service as a singer covered dish, keeping vegetables and side dishes warm. It can also be used as two open serving dishes by simply removing the handle and turning the lid over. When you want to store it away, the lid can be up-turned to fit inside the base.
The overal condition is good with a few bruises that were difficult to show in the photos. This would make a fabulous gift or a useful addition to your collection.
