Item Description

A superb Chinese armorial porcelain tureen, made for the BOYD family of KILMARNOCK Scotland. Baron Kilmarnock. Charles Boyd fought at CULLODEN and fled to France where he married a French girl. ( The impaled arms? ). He eventually died in Staines Castle, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. Beautiful colourful armorial.Don't miss this unusual and rare piece. it should be possible to find a matching lid if required.

Date: Circa 1775.
Dimensions: Approx 13 Inches Wide.
Condition: Good display condition, cracked length ways through body/handles.

Competent restoration, some flaking to interior.

Blazon: Azure a fess chequy Argent and Gules.
