Item Description

An Antique American Sterling Silver Perfume Bottle decorated with an ornate figural grapes and leaves design with subtle scrolled vine detailing. The silver overlay stopper repeats the motif with a lovely grape and leaf design. A script monogram adorns the monogram plate. Excellent Condition. Made by Alvin Corp., Providence, Rhode Island, circa 1895. Fully Hallmarked. The Alvin Corp. was one of the first, and subsequently, one of the most famous makers of sterling silver overlay. This decanter is also ideal for Port. The decanter stands 9 ¾ in. to the mouth and 12 in. to the top of the stopper.
