This is a gorgeous 18 karat gold micro mosaic pendant brooch in the archeological revival style with extraordinary detail. This circular brooch has a wonderfully detailed micro mosaic panel depicting two birds each with a leafy branch with berries against a white background with a wide gold frame with rope-twisted borders and with inset panels and roundels of micro mosaics in a geometric design of blue, pinkish red, and white tiles that form a star and zig-zag pattern. The fine detail of this brooch can be seen in the bird’s feathers that are incredibly varied in color and realistically rendered. This brooch measures approx. 1 3/8” in diameter, and has a fine hinged gold pin and loop for hanging as a pendant. It is in exceptional condition and has been superbly crafted, and is marked on the back. This beautiful antique micro mosaic pendant brooch is a wonderful and highly collectible example of Italian jewelry design that shows the highest quality of this rare art.
