This is a striking sterling silver centerpiece bowl made by the premier American silversmiths at Tiffany & Co., in a wonderful modern design. This unusual bateau shaped bowl has a low-profile and geometric body with sloped sides and a flattened rim. The bowl is undecorated but utilizes the dramatic angles of the paneled body to reflect light in a bold and sophisticated. It is in excellent condition and is a fine example of Tiffany's superior quality and craftsmanship, and measures approx. 10 3/4" long, approx. 4 3/4" wide, and weighs approx. 10 troy ounces. It is marked under the base with the mark of Tiffany & Co., the words Makers, Sterling Silver 925-1000, pattern number 23268, and the letter M for Louis deBebian Moore, Tiffany's president from 1938 to 1956.
